Poll vs Survey: What Is the Difference?
Quick answer
A poll asks one quick multiple-choice question and shows results instantly. A survey asks several questions, often with written answers, to gather detailed feedback. Use a poll for fast decisions and opinions; use a survey for in-depth research.
| Poll | Survey | |
|---|---|---|
| Questions | Usually one | Many |
| Time to answer | A few seconds | Several minutes |
| Results | Instant, live chart | Analysed afterwards |
| Best for | Quick opinions and decisions | Detailed feedback and research |
When to use a poll
